New law on identity cards and new types of identity cards
On December 1, 2019, Act No. 395/2019 Coll. on identity cards and on amendments to certain acts came into effect, replacing the act of the same name from 2006 (Act No. 224/2006 Coll.). The biggest change brought about by this Act is the introduction of ID cards with chips for all citizens.
